Steve Waugh Foundation

Steve Waugh has shown over the past years that he is sympathetic to helping children who are in desperate circumstances. To date this has primarily been in India.

In Australia Steve is a Patron of Camp Quality and Spastic Centre of NSW. Steve wishes to broaden his philanthropic activities at home and as a result, the Steve Waugh Foundation - Australia has been established.

The purpose of the Steve Waugh Foundation - Australia is expressed in the phrase "Somewhere to Turn". It captures Steve's philosophical reasons for establishing a Foundation and honours his feelings about what he wants to achieve. The Foundation is focussed on making a real difference in the lives of beneficiaries. Steve is determined that the Steve Waugh Foundation - Australia stands alone from large organisations. It is all about being there for people who really have no-where to turn. There are many individuals in Australia who have illness and afflictions that don't meet any set criteria for various reasons and as such are unable to qualify for assistance from the Government or established charitable organisations. There is a void that need to be filled for these people and it is in this area that Steve passionately believes the Foundation can not only make a difference but have  a real impact.

Steve Waugh Foundation – Australia will be supporting 0–25 year olds. It will specifically target sick, disabled, neglected, abused children, street kids or youths from educationally, economically and/or emotionally disadvantaged situations. Trust Purposes of the Foundation will be “providing financial relief to young people of courage or character in Australia who are in necessitous circumstances”.

The opportunity exists for Steve Waugh to make a significant difference in the community. He is keen to continue his philanthropy in a meaningful way and in a manner that he can personally impact. The Foundation will be successful because of Steve’s passion, interest and commitment to its objective.
